Ragi idli are just a variation of the basic idlis where rice is replaced with ragi / Finger millet.

How to make Idli: [ This "Ragi /Finger Millet Idli Rava" is a replacement for your regular rice based Idli Rava.] 1. The preparation will require 1 measure of urad dal for 2.5 measure of little millet Idli rava. (measure is a container/cup of your preference) 2. Take urad dal, wash & soak it in water for minimum 3 to 4 hours or more. Also, wash and soak measured quantity of Idli rava along with it in a separate container. 3. Grind the urad dal in a grinder or mixer (use water as needed) into a fine paste. 4. Drain the water from soaked millet Idli Rava. 5. Transfer both of them into a big bowl. Add salt, mix it, cover it and keep aside to ferment.(takes about 8 hours to 10 hours or overnight). Preparing Idli: 1. Grease the idli plates keep it ready. 2. Mix the fermented batter thoroughly, pour it into the greased idli plates. 3. Steam cook these idlis on medium-high heat for about 15 minutes and then turn off the heat. 4. After two minute, remove the idli from the plates using the wet spoon. 5. Serve hot Idlis with Chutney, Sambar.
